Newcastle West
Rettig Ireland (formerly Myson Controls) is a member of the Rettig Group that is a major force within the European heating market. Rettig is a family owned company with its head office based in Helsinki, Finland.
The original Rettig Ireland factory was established at Newcastle West in 1969. Known then as Scanglo International, it was purpose built to manufacture, in high volume, a wide range of valve products for the heating industry. As demand grew through the ‘80’s for more sophisticated controls Rettig Ireland expanded their product range to meet the market aspiration for high quality control products.
In July 2005 a fire broke out causing considerable damage to the factory. Within 12 months a new state of the art production unit for the 21st century was built that will enable the development of an even wider range of MYSON branded controls.
As the largest producer of heating controls in Ireland the company exports its products worldwide. Traditionally the largest share of the busine
ss is exported to the U.K. domestic market, but the rapid growth of the home heating market in Ireland has provided a strong domestic base. In addition to these two ‘home’ markets products are shipped to and via associated companies within the Rettig Group to outlets throughout Europe and beyond.
In line with the company policy of continuous product development Rettig Ireland has expanded the range of product offering to include both mechanical and electrical controls. All production is carried out within the strict quality control procedures of ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
