Q. Can the Hi-Line fan convector heaters be installed at any height?

No, the Hi-Line must be installed no higher than 2.13 metres from the base of the unit to the floor. If the Hi-Line is installed higher than the 2.13 metres the output may be affected.

Q. How much do Myson convector heaters cost to run?

The running costs of Myson convector heaters are less than the costs of running a 60 watt light bulb. Myson convector heaters utilise the heat source from your central heating system and therefore the only additional cost is the fan. On the Kickspace range, the electric only and Duo models do cost more to run than the central heating system models as they rely on direct electric heating.

Q. Do Myson convector heaters operate when the central heating system is switched off?

Myson convector heaters will only provide heat when the central heating system is switched on and hot water is flowing through the convector. It is possible to allow the fan to run in the summer allowing a current of refreshing air around the room by activating the summer/winter switch. On the Kickspace range, the electric and Duo models will operate independently of your central heating system.

Q. How do I size my Myson convector heaters?

It's important that all Myson convector heaters, including Kickspace, Lo-Line, Hi-Line and Slim-Line are sized on normal fan speed setting. If not, you will reduce the life of the fan and impair the unit's performance.

Q. Can Myson convector heaters be used in combination with other heat emitters?

Yes, but it is preferable to provide a separate circuit for all Myson convector heaters to ensure adequate flow of water to the units.

Q. Can Myson convectors be installed in any type of heating system?

No, we recommend Myson Convector products are installed onto a two pipe pumped circulation central heating system. For optimal performance they require a continuous flow of hot water through the heat exchanger. Micro bore systems are not recommended.  For any queries regarding the suitability of your heating system, please contact our Customer Service Department on 01482 713927 for further advice.
