--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q. Is it effective?

To work effectively, underfloor requires water temperatures of between 45°C and 55°C.  These temperatures are easily obtained by blending flow water and return water from the underfloor system by means of a thermostatic mixing facility supplied.

Q. Is it expensive to run?

No, advances in material technology make it possible to have a cost-effective heating system that incorporates energy efficiency and high performance, utilising low water temperatures of between 45°C and 55°C. Typically, radiator systems operate on higher temperatures, thus making them less cost effective in the longer term.

Q. Do you sell the system in kit form?

No, every system is custom made to individual project requirements including bespoke design. Myson belives it is important to design every underfloor heating system individually so that the exact heat requirements of the room can be met. The danger with kits is that the the heat requirement is calculated incorrectly leaving the room with inadequate heat.

Q. What guarantee does the system carry?

All diffupex pipework is guaranteed for 10 years and all controls are guaranteed for 12 months from date of installation.

Q. What heat output can I expect to achieve?

On screeded floors the approximate output is 100W/M² in living areas and up to 130W/m² in hall areas. On plated and floating floor applications the approximate output is 70W/m². The heat output must be calculated accurately for each room.

Q. What type of boiler is compatible with underfloor?

Myson underfloor heating is suitable for use with all types of wet central heating systems, including gas, oil or solid fuels and conventional, combination or condensing boilers.  It is also for mixed systems with, for example, underfloor heating on the ground floor and radiators on the first floor. It is ideally suited to condensing or high-efficiency boilers because of the lower water temperatures they generate.

Q. How does it work?

In basic terms, underfloor heating is plastic pipe buried in the floor, using either a screed, plated or floating fixing method.
